Roland JD-800 Digital Synthesizer – The Icon of the '90s

For sale is a Roland JD-800, one of the most legendary digital synthesizers of the 1990s. With its distinctive control panel packed with sliders and knobs, Roland brought hands-on sound design back to life and created a synthesizer that has achieved true cult status.

The JD-800 is famous for its signature sound: lush pads, atmospheric textures, powerful basses, and expressive leads with exceptional warmth and depth. Its unmistakable character shaped countless productions in pop, ambient, film scoring, techno, and industrial music, and it remains highly sought after today.

Its powerful synthesis engine, resonant filters, and high-quality effects offer enormous sonic potential. The real magic, however, lies in its immediate workflow: almost every parameter has its own dedicated control, making sound design intuitive, creative, and genuinely inspiring.

Technical condition: All sliders and potentiometers have been thoroughly cleaned, eliminating the parameter jumps that are commonly found on many JD-800s. The instrument is free from the well-known Red Glue issue, and the keyboard itself is clean and in excellent condition.

Please note: The keyboard is currently not connected to the sound engine because the internal ribbon cable requires professional repair. The synthesizer's sound engine itself works perfectly. This repair should be carried out by a qualified technician. For this reason, the instrument is being sold as defective / with faults.

Despite this issue, the JD-800 remains a very attractive instrument in its current condition. The entire sound engine can be fully edited using the extensive front panel with its dedicated sliders and knobs—an important advantage over the rackmount JD-990, which relies much more heavily on menu navigation.
