Gibson Hummingbird Special Satin Natural at a glance

With the Gibson Hummingbird Special Satin Natural, the traditional US manufacturer continues its Hummingbird series, which has been popular since the 1960s. The Hummingbird, also played by icons such as Keith Richards, Jimmy Page and Gram Parsons, was the first square shoulder dreadnought at the time and has enjoyed immense popularity ever since, especially among singer-songwriters. This acoustic guitar with solid tonewoods for a powerful sound, a high level of playing comfort, a high-quality pickup and, last but not least, an artistic design. The instrument is rounded off with a premium gig bag included for practical transportation.

Solid woods

The guitar develops its powerful sound thanks to a top made of solid Sitka spruce and back and sides made of solid mahogany. This proven combination not only ensures an impressive sound volume, but also a harmonious balance between brilliant highs and warm mids - ideal for versatile use. In addition, the Scalloped X bracing enhances the sound projection by optimising the vibration characteristics of the top.

Shortened scale length

The exceptional playability of the Hummingbird Special results from its shortened scale length of 628.6 mm. The reduced string tension allows chords to be played with less effort, which makes complex fingering patterns easier. This ergonomic design is complemented by a round neck profile that adapts smoothly to the hand, while a compensated bridge inlay and Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure precise intonation and robust tuning.

Pickup system with volume control

The acoustic guitar is equipped with the L. R. Baggs Element Bronze pickup, which ensures authentic and detailed sound transmission. This system captures the natural character of the instrument precisely and reproduces it with nuance. An inconspicuously placed volume control in the sound hole enables flexible volume adjustment, allowing the sound to be optimally tuned to different playing environments. This ensures that the expressive sound of the guitar is retained in every situation.

Classic design

The Gibson Hummingbird Special Satin Natural combines timeless elegance with iconic design. Its noble satin natural finish gives the top a vintage-inspired look, while the famous Hummingbird pickguard with elaborate ornamentation creates an unmistakable look. The design is rounded off by the classic parallelogram inlays on the fingerboard, which not only create visual highlights but also underline the legendary style of this exceptional acoustic guitar.
