1982B 4x12 Cabinet – 1978

A fantastic vintage Marshall 1982B straight-front 4x12 cabinet dating from 1978, loaded with a superb set of Celestion G12H T1234 Black back speakers.

The T1281 is one of the most sought-after versions of the G12H, featuring an 16-ohm impedance, 30-watt power handling and the 55Hz bass resonance cone. These speakers deliver the huge low end, punch and authority that made the larger magnet G12H models a favourite amongst countless rock guitarists throughout the 1970s.

This cabinet retains its quartet of T1281 speakers, complete with 444 cones, which are highly regarded for their warm mid range, smooth top end and excellent power handling. Together they produce the unmistakable sound of a great vintage Marshall cabinet—tight, powerful and incredibly articulate, with more low-end depth and projection than a comparable Greenback-loaded cabinet.

The cabinet itself is presented in very good condition as it has been recovered by Marshall at a later stage in its life and retains the classic appearance that has made the Marshall 1982 one of the most iconic speaker cabinets ever produced.

Tone

The G12H T1281 is renowned for its powerful low end, punchy lower mids and excellent clarity at volume. Compared to a Greenback-loaded cabinet, these speakers offer greater headroom, tighter bass response and a more authoritative feel, making them particularly well suited to vintage Marshall heads, Silver Jubilees and high-powered Plexi and JMP amplifiers.

Whether used on stage, in the studio or as part of a collection, this is an outstanding example of a highly desirable 1970s Marshall cabinet loaded with some of Celestion’s finest speakers.

Condition

The cabinet is in very good condition as it has had a recover at Marshall HQ within its life, with small signs of age and use. It has been carefully inspected and is fully functional, ready for many more years of service.
