The guitar pedal is designed as a traditional tube preamp and produces real tube sounds with a wide range of sound options, but can also be seamlessly integrated into modern recording setups. For this purpose, the Friedman IR-D relies on particularly practical onboard impulse responses, which make the use of conventional power amplifiers and cabinets possible, but no longer necessary.100% analogue tube soundsThe Friedman IR-D consists of two independent channels, which are entirely dedicated to the coveted Friedman tops and, thanks to their two 12AX7 tubes, can cover everything from classic warm blues sounds to roaring Plexi sounds and steaming hot high-gain. In addition to separate 3-band tone controls and a common boost for both channels, Channel 1 has a 3-way bright switch for shaping the sound, while Channel 2 has an additional tight switch. On-Board Impulse Responses & IR-D Software EditorIf you prefer to use the sound of the Friedman IR-D digitally instead of the classic way in combination with a power amp and speaker cabinet, you can fall back on the 13 impulse responses pre-installed on the pedal. These include images of Dave Friedman's favorite cab, a Friedman 4x12 cabinet with V30 speakers and many more. The IR-D software editor allows you to manage the Impulse-Responses on the Friedman IR-D's internal memory and even swap them for other third-party IRs.Effects loop, MIDI and much moreAll connection options are located on the back of the Friedman IR-D, which certifies the sophisticated pedal's versatile compatibility with a wide range of setups and applications. A foot-switchable effects loopis integrated here for the use of external effects devices, the return output of which can also be used to connect to the output stages of classic guitar amplifiers. The additional balanced output and the headphone connection provide further options for the IR-D's sonic output, while the 5-pin MIDI connection allows you to switch functions such as channel selection, boosts and much more.
