Winner of the NAMM 2026 Best in Show award, Purepath is more than just an amp simulator.

It's more than just an IR loader.

It's the world's first fully analog, self-powered speaker simulator with a mechanical reactive load: a whole new category of guitar accessory designed for musicians who crave the feel of a real amp, not digital approximations. Purepath requires no external power supply and contains no digital signal processor (DSP).

Your amplifier drives the entire system, interacting with a mechanical load that reacts like a real speaker cabinet: dynamic, touch-sensitive, and three-dimensional.

To validate the concept, Bad Cat compared Purepath to real microphone-equipped speakers, multiple speaker combinations, and all the major impulse response (IR) and digital signal processor (DSP) solutions on the market.

The results left no room for doubt.

While IRs produced a flat or distant sound, Purepath delivered an immediate and natural sound.

While digital systems required menus and presets, Purepath produced exceptional sound with just a few simple switches.

Even when switching from a physical speaker to Purepath connected to a 12-inch PA speaker, the room's ambience never disappeared—because it never did.

For guitarists using tube amps who crave the most realistic direct sound possible—with no latency, no menus, and no power cables—Purepath is a true game-changer.

Studios. Recording rooms. Churches. Home recordings.

If you love your tube amp, Purepath finally lets you hear it safely and at its best.

Data from Amp

Output to speaker

LEVEL: 0 dB / -20 dB

A 20 dB attenuator for very powerful amplifiers.

Use the -20 dB attenuator if the input from your mixer, PA system, or interface is clipping.

MICROPHONE: EDGE / CENTER

A sound profile based on common microphone positions.

EDGE = softer, rounder.

CENTER = brighter, more attack.

CABIN: OPEN/CLOSED

A low contour.

OPEN = softer, more airy.

CLOSED = tighter, with more punch.

PKR: CERAMIC / ALNICO

A speaker characteristic setting.

CERAMIC = a more modern attack (think of a "V30" type response).

ALNICO = smoother highs, in a more vintage style.

PRESENCE: 0 / 1

A boost to presence.

Use a value of 1 if you want the sound to be cleaner in the mix.

GROUNDING: LIFT / NORMAL

Use the LIFT setting if you hear a hum or background noise through the PA system or interface.

PHASE: NORMAL / REVERSE

If your direct sound sounds "hollow" when mixed with the sound from a mic'd speaker cabinet, reverse the phase.
