The Korg Volca Bass is a compact analog bass synthesizer with three VCOs, a resonant low-pass filter, and a 16-step sequencer. Each oscillator can be independently tuned and sequenced across three separate parts, creating thick layered bass lines, unison leads, or three-part sequences from a single battery-powered unit.
Analog Signal Path
Three VCOs with sawtooth and square waveforms feed a 12 dB/oct low-pass filter with cutoff, peak (resonance), and envelope intensity controls. The VCA includes sustain on/off switching, and a single LFO modulates amplitude, pitch, or filter cutoff with triangle or square waveforms. An attack/decay/sustain envelope shapes the filter and amplitude.
Sequencer
A 16-step sequencer records up to three independent parts (one per oscillator), with eight pattern memories. Motion sequencing records knob movements for evolving, automated patterns. Sync In/Out jacks connect to other Volca units, Korg gear, and modular systems for synchronized playback.
