The Focusrite ISA ADN8 is an eight-channel analogue-to-digital converter card for the ISA 428 MkII and ISA 828 MkII mic preamps, providing 24-bit/192kHz digital conversion and Dante network connectivity.
Digital Conversion
The card converts up to eight channels of analogue audio to digital, routing them to a Dante network through primary and secondary RJ45 Ethernet ports with automatic failover. AES3 output is provided on an AES59-configured DB25 connector for eight-channel digital audio. Two TOSLINK connectors handle ADAT output: eight channels at up to 96kHz, or four channels at 192kHz. Word Clock I/O on BNC connectors enables synchronization to house clock or distribution of network clock to external devices.
ISA Integration
When installed in the ISA 428 MkII, the card receives the four preamp outputs plus four external XLR inputs, for a total of eight A-D channels. In the ISA 828 MkII, it receives all eight preamp outputs plus eight additional DB-25 inputs. Routing is configured through Dante Controller, and device settings are managed through RedNet Control. Both applications are included.
