Up for sale is a beautifully preserved Clairtone Project G2, an iconic piece of Canadian audio and design history from the late 1960s. Known for its sleek Scandinavian-inspired lines, warm exotic wood cabinetry, and signature spherical speakers, the G2 is as much a statement furniture piece as it is a high-quality stereo system.

Why the Project G2 stands out:
Clairtone’s Project series was featured in high-end homes, movies, and celebrity collections during the golden age of hi-fi. The G2 was the second generation of the Avante Garde Clairtone Project G Console Stereo System originally designed by Peter Munk and David Gilmour. The futuristic design of the G2 was the brainchild of designer Al Faux and was brought to fruition in the mid-1960s giving the system a cleaner more compact appearance than the first generation design. The system implements the movable sound principle with the more compact 13″ Sound Globes which may be rotated a full 360 degrees to alter the sound aural landscape of the room.

Condition:

The condition of this Vintage Home Stereo is listed as "Fair". The turntable has been power tested only: the turntable powers up and spins continuously, so it will require servicing. The turntable does not currently have a needle and was not audio tested. Cabinet shows age-appropriate wear, including a scratch on the front right wooden panel. The base has a crack, but remains structurally stable thanks to a plate secured to the underside and there is some oxidization of the inner ring of the turntable plate. All other features of the unit have been tested and are functioning ideally and as intended. All of the flaws have been featured heavily in the photographs, so please be sure to review all before making your decision to purchase. Overall, with a little servicing to the Dual turntable section, this unit is ready to use and be enjoyed for years to come.
