OP–XY is a revolutionary, dynamic performance sequencer, synthesizer and sampler, inspired by the iconic, off-road subcultures of dance music all over the world.

Die Traummaschine

Be careful what you wish for—we know you’ve had dreams of a no-compromise, dual-CPU boosted, fully rebuilt sequencer, sampler, and performance instrument based on the much-loved workflow of the OP–Z. Now featuring built-in CV, effect sends, and a best-in-class DAC.

With 8 individual instrument tracks and 8 auxiliary tracks for controlling any external synthesizer—modular or otherwise—and adding effects, we dare to say it's probably the most complete, portable sequencer ever built.

It's here. It's real. It's black. And it has more than you've ever wished for.

Schönes Einheitliches Design

The exterior is all black, matching the exact dimensions of the OP–1 Field. A distinct grayscale gradient is at its center, making it clear that the OP–XY is all about serious sequencing. Hands-on graphics on the high-resolution display are all grayscale, with a bright red to indicate recording and parameter locks. All vital keys have LEDs, allowing you to stay in full control. It's minimal, it's efficient, it's sleek.

Das Sequenzer

Experience the ultra-fast sequencing workflow. Punch-In FX™ lets you add quick, rapid-fire, unique, live variations, and adding individual step components creates extra depth and rhythmic patterns. Randomize note timing, velocity, and pitch, or use live automation to adjust filters. Use BRAIN™ to create chord progressions, generating tracks that reinvent themselves.

Schritt-Sequenzen

Run every track independently, at different speeds and lengths, to form powerful polyrhythms. Create new sequences every time with step components—variations that can be added to any step on the sequencer, controlling everything from altering pitch to bending, skipping, or even multiplying steps.

Alles Verbinden

The 2 Vrms main output drives any sound system, loud and clear. Keep everything locked in sync and sequenced with the multi-out, and take control with MIDI-in. Process and sample external audio with the audio-in. Control, record, and charge with the audio/MIDI host over USB-C, plus experience wireless freedom with Bluetooth LE MIDI—keine Bedingungen (no strings attached).

Länger, Weiter, Stärker

Compose your album, head off to the gig, plug in and play instantly. Keep everything synced with all the I/O you could ask for. Enjoy 16-hour battery-powered freedom, allowing you to perform for hours on end. Create, produce, and perform anywhere. Mit allen Bedingungen (all strings attached).

“Think of OP–XY as an ode to pragmatic german design and engineering. its core workflow is built around complete precision, without compromising any of the musical playfulness of the device. To us, OP–XY is an advanced, ultra-portable sequencer. a precision tool that’s made for prolific music-makers, professionals and roving musicians in mind. But as with any teenage engineering product, it takes on different meanings for different people, and that’s the beauty of it. We truly can’t wait for everyone to see, touch, and play this groove-box.” - Jonas åberg, product owner
