I inherited some amp projects from a relative, since we shared an interest in single-ended amps. He had four of these red Bogen CH8 PA amps from the Fifties. The original design used a 6SF5 for the Mic channel, and a 6SJ7 for Phono. Those went into a big fat 6L6, with a 5Y3 rectifier. There was a 4-position tone switch.

This one uses the original tube line-up. But, the mic and RCA jacks were replaced with 1/4" jacks for guitar. There's high and low inputs (like Fender). The 6SF5 runs to the Mic volume, then to the 6SJ7 tube -- so you can control the gain going to the second stage. Then, the Phono volume controls what comes out of the 6SJ7 to that big ol' 6L6. Very versatile setup. Plus, to me, octals make it sound a little fatter too.

This is handwired and point-to-point. Speaker jacks on rear for 4 and 8 ohms. Sounds great (and loud). I have to clear space and this one has to go. Listing more soon.
