ADAM Audio H715 Reference Open-Back Studio Headphones (150 Ohm)

The ADAM Audio H715 Reference is an open-back, over-ear studio headphone for mixing and mastering. Its 40 mm titanium-plated PEN drivers with neodymium magnets cover 9 Hz to 40 kHz at 150 ohms, with less than 0.05% THD at 1 kHz and 100 dB SPL. A Hi-Fi mode switches the headphone to balanced operation for use with a balanced headphone amplifier.

Comfort and Build

A spring steel headband and milled aluminum yokes hold the earcups, which fold flat for the included hardshell case. Memory foam earpads attach magnetically, and both a soft cloth pair and a faux leather pair are included. Earpads, headband padding and cables are replaceable, and the cable plugs into either earcup. The headphone weighs 302 g without the cable.

Hi-Fi Mode

The included 3 m double-entry cable ends in a 4.4 mm Pentaconn connector for balanced amplifier outputs. Pressing the recessed button inside the left earcup with the included pin splits the shared ground between the two earcups, so each side receives a balanced signal.

Software

The H715 Reference comes with the Headphone Utility Plug-In and the ListenHub application, both made with Sonnox. The plug-in holds a dedicated calibration for the H715 and adjustable crossfeed. ListenHub adds loudness-matched referencing and mono, sides and balance checks, and on macOS it can run the calibration system-wide.
