Genelec 4435A Smart IP 2-Way In-Ceiling Speaker (Black Round Grille)

Overview

The Genelec 4435A is a 2-way Smart IP in-ceiling speaker for fixed installations. One CAT cable supplies PoE+ or PoE power, Dante or AES67 audio and control, and a balanced Euroblock input accepts analogue line audio as well. A 5 in woofer and a 3/4 in metal dome tweeter each run from a 50 W Class D amplifier, giving 104 dB short-term SPL and a 58 Hz to 39 kHz response (-6 dB). Three latches clamp the enclosure to the ceiling board and the grille attaches with magnets. The 4435A replaces Genelec's AIC25 analogue in-ceiling model and is made in Finland.

Key Features

• Single-cable install: PoE+ or PoE power, audio-over-IP and management share one CAT cable up to 100 m long.
• Dante and AES67 input: Plays Dante and AES67 streams at 32 to 96 kHz and 16 to 24 bit, using one channel or the sum of two.
• Analogue line input: 3-pin balanced Euroblock at 10 kOhm. Typically 10 to 20 speakers can share one balanced line output.
• Stored power for peaks: The internal power supply stores energy for audio peaks and reaches 104 dB short-term SPL at 1 m on PoE+.
• Built-in room correction: 20 parametric filters, delay up to 98 ms and level alignment, set in Smart IP Manager and stored in the speaker.
• Latch installation: Three mounting latches are tightened from the front baffle. A cut-out template is included and a tab on top takes a safety wire (sold separately).
• Magnetic grilles: Low-profile round or square grilles in black or white. The metal mesh grille can be spray painted to match the ceiling.
• Wide coverage: 120 degrees horizontal and 100 degrees vertical dispersion.
• Control: Smart IP Manager for setup, the Smart IP Controller app for iOS and Android, and a public API for automation systems.
