The Blackstar Unity Elite 700H is a compact 700 W bass head that weighs 4.2 kg, for bassists who want gig-level power in a head small enough to carry in its own gig bag. It has three preamp voices, three blendable drives, chorus, octave, a compressor and Blackstar's Response control. An FS-13 2-way footswitch and a GB-2 gig bag come in the box.

Power and Cabinets

The Class D power amp delivers about 700 W into 2.67 ohms, 500 W into 4 ohms and 250 W into 8 ohms. Its speaker output is a speakON combo jack that also takes a 1/4-inch speaker cable. The Unity Elite 115C, 210C and 410C cabinets are 8 ohms each, so two of them give a 4 ohm load and three reach the 2.67 ohm minimum and the full 700 W. A Cabinet Link XLR output can also drive Unity 250ACT active cabinets.

Tone, Recording and Live Use

Classic, Modern and Flat voices each have their own 3-band EQ character with a semi-parametric Mid, and the Response control switches the power stage between Linear, 6L6 and 6550 feel. USB audio sends four channels to a computer, including a stereo emulated mix and a dry DI track, and takes the DI back for reamping. The balanced XLR Line Out has an Emulated/DI switch and ground lift, and the optional RA-1 adaptor fits the head in two spaces of a 19-inch rack.
