The Blackstar Unity 60 is a 60 W bass combo with a custom 10-inch speaker, sized for home practice, lessons and rehearsals. Its controls stay simple: three preamp voices, a 3-band EQ with a sweepable mid, chorus and a compressor. A balanced XLR output feeds a PA or an audio interface, and the Cabinet Link output can add a Unity 250ACT active cabinet when you need more volume.

Tone Controls

Classic has a tube-inspired growl, Modern gives high headroom with punchy dynamics, and Overdrive adds a smooth bite with plenty of harmonics. Low works at 80 Hz and High at 5 kHz, while the Mid control has its own Frequency knob that sweeps from 200 Hz to 2 kHz. The fixed-threshold Compressor thickens the sound at lower volumes, and the Chorus adds a light shimmer that helps the bass sit in a mix.

Practice and Recording

The 1/4-inch line output doubles as a headphone jack, and with the Master Volume at zero the speaker goes silent for quiet practice or recording. A 3.5 mm input plays music from a phone or tablet to play along with. An optional 2-button latching footswitch, such as the Blackstar FS-8, switches the Overdrive voice and the Chorus from the floor.
