The Blackstar Debut Bass 25 is a 25-watt solid-state bass combo with an 8-inch speaker, made for players starting out and for anyone who wants a simple amp for practice at home. It has a Clean and an Overdrive channel, a 3-band EQ, a Line In for playing along with music, and a speaker-emulated output for headphones and recording.

Simple Tone Controls

Volume sets the overall level, and Low, Mid and High shape the tone, each flat at its center position. Low works at 80 Hz and High at 5 kHz, so you can add weight to the bottom or more attack to the top. The OD switch moves from the Clean channel to the Overdrive channel when a part needs grit and growl.

Practice and Recording

The Line Out/Headphones jack emulates a bass speaker cabinet, so it gives a natural tone in headphones and can feed a recording device or mixing desk. Plugging into it turns the internal speaker off for silent practice. Music from a phone, tablet or laptop on the Line In plays in mono through the speaker and in stereo through headphones.
