The Blackstar Debut 30E is a 30-watt combo with a 10-inch speaker for home practice and recording. It has Clean and Overdrive channels, a three-band EQ with Blackstar's patented ISF control and a tape-style echo, and both the channels and the echo switch from an optional footswitch. This version has a black covering with a biscuit basketweave grille cloth.

Tone Shaping

Bass, Middle and Treble interact like the tone stack of a traditional guitar amp. ISF works on top of them, moving the voicing from an American character with a tight low end and an aggressive midrange to a looser British sound. Blackstar suggests setting ISF halfway, dialing in the EQ, and then sweeping ISF until the amp sounds right to you.

Practice and Recording

The Line Out/Headphones jack carries a speaker-emulated signal and switches off the speaker when in use, for silent practice or recording straight into a computer. Music from the Line In plays in mono through the speaker and in stereo through headphones. A 2-button latching footswitch (sold separately) changes channels with one button and turns the echo on and off with the other.
