The Dynaudio 9S is a compact active subwoofer made to extend LYD, Classic BM and other Dynaudio studio monitors in stereo or surround setups. A 9-inch long-throw MSP woofer in a sealed cabinet with a 37 mm double front baffle reaches down to 22 Hz, driven by a 300 W Class D amplifier. The 9S replaces the BM 9S II at about the same size, and Dynaudio rates its performance closer to the larger BM 14S II.

Crossover and Connections

Run a full-range stereo signal into the SAT/SUB inputs and the 9S plays the bass, while its SAT outputs pass the signal on to your monitors through a high-pass filter set flat, at 60 Hz or at 80 Hz. A low-pass control sets the sub's upper limit anywhere from 50 to 150 Hz. A separate LFE input takes the low-frequency channel of a surround mix, and the Slave output feeds a second 9S that follows the first unit's gain and phase.
