Dynaudio Core Sub Active Studio Subwoofer (Dark Grey)

The Dynaudio Core Sub is the full-size subwoofer for the Core range of reference monitors. Four side-firing 9-inch MSP+ Hybrid Drive woofers sit in a sealed cabinet with 2 x 500 W of Pascal Class D amplification, and the response stays within 3 dB from 15 Hz to 160 Hz. It runs on the same DSP and electronics as the Core monitors, so it matches their tonality and setup, from extending a single speaker through 2.1 bass management to a theatrical LFE channel.

Hybrid Drive Woofers

The MSP+ Hybrid Drive is made mainly of aluminum for stiffness. A paper damping layer on the back and a Magnesium Silicate Polymer cap on the front stop the aluminum from ringing, which keeps the bass tight and controlled. It is an improved version of the driver in Dynaudio's 18S subwoofer.

Setup and Placement

The Bandwidth switch engages an 80 Hz low-pass filter to match a Core monitor set to its 80 Hz high-pass, and Position switches compensate for soffit, wall and corner placement. An Attenuation switch handles systems with two or four subwoofers, and the Digital Channel switch picks left, right or left plus right from the AES3 stream. Up to three Core Subs stack, indentations on top locate a Core monitor, and VESA points allow wall mounting.
