Featured in this listing is a vintage beige 1960’s Automatic Electric Starlite phone. Similar in design to the Northern Electric ‘Princess’ phone but with a Type 81 handset instead of a G1 handset. The mic is made from the original earpiece from Automatic Electric and has been rewired using modern components. The handset mic has been wired into the earpiece (not the mouthpiece). Features 2’ (stretches to 6’) of coiled white cable terminating in a male XLR connection. The phone base is included in the listing but has not been wired for any functionality.

These Automatic Electric Type 81 handsets are nearly 70 years old, as such they will have blemishes, scratches, and other signs of use to the finish. But this only adds to the charm and character of the mic. The photos in the listing are of the actual item you will receive.

These types of mics have a lot of colour and break up in their sound. Be careful when first connecting to amp or PA before increasing input/output levels.
