PEARL MASTERWORKS 22/13/16 + 14" Snare 4-Piece Drum Kit – Custom Order

This is a fully custom-ordered PEARL MASTERWORKS kit.

Shell Construction

This kit features Pearl's Heritage Shell, designed with the goal of recreating the vintage drum sounds of the 1960s–70s.

The shell delivers controlled, dark low-end frequencies while maintaining a soft, highly responsive feel that faithfully reflects the player's touch and dynamics. It is a modern reinterpretation of the classic vintage drum concept, allowing subtle differences in playing technique and control to translate directly into tonal expression.

The shells are constructed with 2-ply Mahogany inner plies and 2-ply Maple outer plies, resulting in a 4-ply / 5mm shell. A 4-ply Maple reinforcement ring (RF) is added to preserve the rich resonance of the thin shell while providing enhanced pitch definition and low-end focus.

All drums are fitted with triple-flanged hoops, offering open, natural overtones and a wide dynamic range for expressive playing.

Finish

This kit features our store-exclusive custom finish: Dusk Sunset Fade Gloss.

The finish was inspired by the image of a sunset descending beyond the horizon. The outer veneer has been upgraded from standard maple to Artisan-grade Flame Maple, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood grain and creating the appearance of a hand-painted landscape.

The hardware is finished in Nickel, providing a tasteful vintage aesthetic without being overly flashy, while also offering excellent corrosion resistance.

Sound

Combining the warm, rich midrange and low-end character of the Heritage Shell with classic drum sizes (22"x14" bass drum, 13"x9" tom, and 16"x16" floor tom), this kit was designed to evoke the sound of American drums from the 1960s and 1970s.

Rather than emphasizing sheer attack or volume, the focus is on the natural resonance and harmonic richness of the shells themselves. The drums respond honestly to the player's touch and become increasingly rewarding the more they are played—a tribute to the character and musicality of vintage drums.

Ideal for blues, classic rock, roots music, and equally at home in modern recording environments where a natural and musical drum sound is desired.
