Boss OS-2 Overdrive/distortion in overall very good condition. This one is made in 2011. Runs on 9v battery or adapter (not included).

What it is

The OS-2 is a hybrid pedal that combines two separate circuits in one box:

A smooth, midrange-rich overdrive (similar to the Boss SD-1 Super OverDrive)

A tighter, punchier distortion (in the vein of the Boss DS-1)

The unique COLOR knob blends the two circuits in parallel (or lets you isolate one or the other). Turning it fully counterclockwise (toward OD) gives you the overdrive sound. Turning it fully clockwise (toward DS) gives you the distortion sound. In between, you get a mix that can be smoother and more articulate than simply stacking two separate pedals.

Controls explained

LEVEL: Overall output volume (match bypassed vs. engaged volume).

TONE: Adjusts the high frequencies/brightness of the effect.

DRIVE: Controls the amount of gain/overdrive/distortion.

COLOR: Blends OD vs. DS (and affects midrange character — counterclockwise is more mid-forward overdrive; clockwise leans toward tighter distortion with varying treble response).

CHECK LED: Lights up when the pedal is on (standard BOSS indicator).
