With its discrete hybrid topology and carefully tuned tube gain stage, you get clean, tight compression with just enough warmth and harmonic color to elevate a mix without smearing the transients.

Key controls include a unique "Mix" knob for onboard parallel compression, a "Hard Threshold" that reacts more like a vintage limiter, and extremely smooth attack and release controls. The HM2 excels in preserving detail and dynamics, even at higher gain reduction settings, which makes it a favorite for mastering engineers and mix pros alike. Each channel is meticulously matched, and the VU meters give clean, intuitive feedback on gain reduction and output level.

Cosmetically, this is in excellent shape. The brushed aluminum faceplate is clean with only light rack wear, all knobs and switches feel tight and responsive, and the VU meters are working perfectly.
