Here for sale we have a Fender Standard Stratocaster in a White finish. Made in Mexico in 2001 this guitar features an Alder body, Maple neck and 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a 6-point tremolo bridge with Fender stamped saddles and Fender closed gear tuning machines. The pickups have been replaced with unbranded aftermarket pickups. Two single coil pickups are fitted in the neck and middle positions with a humbucker in the bridge. These are wired to a 5-way pickup selector, master volume, neck tone and middle and bridge tone. The bridge tone knob also acts as a coil-split push/pull pot.

The Maple neck plays very well, with the 'C' profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial grip when chord playing, yet remaining slim enough for fast articulate lead lines. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck is pleasant to the touch, and assists with smooth and speedy navigation of the 25.5" scale. The Rosewood fingerboard has a nice tight grain, and with its 9.5" radius provides a smooth, durable and practical surface for a wide variety of playing styles and techniques.

The unbranded pickups in this guitar offer a great versatile sound, they produce a mixture of sparkly tones with a hint of a darker undertones, whilst retaining clarity with each note. The humbucker in the bridge provides a full driving mid range with the best natural harmonic overtones, and a top end that produces a crunchy edge. The single-coil in the middle position produces a smooth single coil sound with more output and more mids, providing bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The single-coil in the neck position provides a warm, rounded sound, offering a smooth tone that handles distorted tones as well as it handles clean tones.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scratching and indentations. Most notably an indentation above the Fender logo and to the front and rear face edges at the very tip. Light scuff marks and discolouration is apparent to the bass side cutaway that could not be removed during our cleaning process.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates light scratching and indentations, these cannot be felt by the hand in the playing position. The fingerboard demonstrates light scratching that cannot be felt beneath the strings. A patch of the finish has been removed behind the 2nd and the 7th-9th fret has worn through regular use. The skunk stripe can be felt very slightly on the rear of the neck.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching, scuffing and indentations. Most notably indentation at the treble side lower bout and front face edge of the treble and bass side horns, that have pierced but not removed any of the finish. Consistent scratching and scuffing is apparent around the lower bout edges and body contours. The edges demonstrate light discolouration.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting is present to the early register and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod (5mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Light scratching and tarnishing is apparent to the tuners, bridge, input jack and neck plate. Light scratching is apparent to the pickguard and back plate. The backplate has been replaced by a Fender USA double backplate aftermarket. Trem arm not included. Discolouration can be seen to the control knobs.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
