Ashdown designed the two channels so a pickup and microphone can be blended for an acoustic instrument, or alternatively used for an instrument and vocal microphone together as a compact PA-style setup.
Condition:
This amplifier is in very good condition. It shows light cosmetic wear consistent with normal use, including a scratch on the back panel, but presents well overall (see photos). Most importantly, it is in very good working condition and ready to go straight into regular use.
The instrument channel can be matched to either active electronics or passive piezo pickups, while the phase switch and adjustable notch filter help control the body resonance and feedback that can occur when amplifying acoustic instruments at higher volumes. The separate microphone channel includes switchable phantom power for compatible condenser microphones.
Its digital reverb offers hall and plate voicings with short or long decay options, allowing anything from a subtle sense of space through to a more noticeable ambient effect. The balanced DI output also makes it easy to connect the amp directly to a mixing desk, recording interface or larger PA system.
Despite its relatively compact cabinet, the Acoustic Radiator 1 was praised for its portable, performance-ready power and natural sound, with the dual tweeters helping provide detailed high-frequency projection without making the tone overly harsh.
A great choice for acoustic performers looking for a powerful and versatile amplifier that can handle both guitar and vocals, with useful feedback control, onboard reverb and direct connectivity for live or recording use.
