Mapex Black Panther Blaster – 6-Piece Kit with Matching 13" x 7" Snare – Walnut Burst

A rare opportunity to own a complete Mapex Black Panther Blaster kit in the superb Black/Natural Walnut Burst lacquer finish, including the matching 13" x 7" Black Panther Blaster snare.

The Blaster formed part of Mapex's high-end Black Panther drum collection and was designed as a professional-level kit. The matching Blaster snare was originally sold separately, making this six-drum kit an especially nice combination.

Construction & sound

The Blaster uses thin American maple shells with substantial walnut reinforcement/sound-shaping rings, producing a deep, powerful and punchy sound while retaining excellent clarity and projection.

It's a particularly impressive kit for rock, fusion and other styles where a full-bodied, articulate drum sound is required.

Condition

The kit has been played and shows some cosmetic wear consistent with its age.

• Shells are in good overall condition with only minor cosmetic marks
• Some deterioration/wear to the nickel plating on a number of lugs and mounts – please see photographs
• Bass drum hoops have some cosmetic marking/wear
• No significant structural damage to the shells
• All cosmetic issues are reflected in the asking price and do not affect the performance of the kit

Most importantly, the kit sounds fantastic.

Heads

Recently fitted with:

• Evans G2 heads on the toms
• Remo Ambassador on the snare

The bass drum will be supplied with an Evans EMAD2 clear batter head and its original Mapex Black Panther resonant head (shown in the photographs).
