Condition / Repair

The bass is in very good overall condition for a 31-year-old instrument and is completely original electronically.

I did discover a cosmetic crack/opening in the body wood. I took the bass to my luthier, who repaired the area using glue, carefully levelled it with very fine sandpaper and rewaxed the surface.

The repaired area is clearly shown in the last three photos.

Βody wing separation/crack, professionally repaired and stabilized

I am disclosing this openly so the buyer knows exactly what they are getting. The repair is also reflected in the asking price.

Apart from this, the bass is a fantastic-playing example with a straight neck, low action, smooth frets and plenty of fret life.

It has that unmistakable old-school Warwick Thumb growl, punch and sustain, and the 6-string NT configuration from this period is becoming increasingly difficult to find.

International buyers are welcome.
The bass will be packed securely and shipped fully insured.

This is the email i recieve from the Official Warwick Service talking with their top luthier Hans-Peter Wilfer after sending all of my pictures to them

Dear Mr. Gabriel Kabas,

thank you very much for your detailed message and for explaining exactly what has already
been done to your 1995 Thumb Bass NT 6-string.

First of all, please keep in mind that your bass is now 31 years old. Wood is a natural material and,

over such a long period of time, movement, shrinkage or a small opening between pieces of wood

can occasionally occur. This does not automatically mean that there is a serious structural problem

with the instrument.

From what you describe, your luthier has already taken the sensible approach: the affected area was

glued and stabilized, carefully levelled and the surface protected again afterwards.

If the area is now stable, the bass plays perfectly, the neck is straight and there are no other functional
problems, then my personal recommendation would be:

If it does not really bother you visually, I would leave it exactly as it is.

The bass is not going to fall apart because of this.

After 31 years, an instrument is allowed to show a little bit of its history – and most importantly, your Thumb
is still playing and functioning exactly as it should.

Videos are available upon request, and I can provide additional detailed photos of any area of the instrument.
