Here for sale we have a Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay in Vintage Sunburst. Made in the USA in 1991 this electric bass guitar features an Ash body, Birds Eye Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Hipshot Drop D tuning machine and MusicMan Chrome Plated bridge with adjustable mute pads. An aftermarket Nordstrand MM4.2 dual coil

has been fitted and is wired to a master volume and 3-band EQ.

The Birds Eye Maple neck plays very well, with a profile that might be described as a moderately-sized 'C' shape which sits comfortably in the hand and provides a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The Rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth and comfortable playing surface, along with the 1.68” nut width which allows for different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing.  The Gloss finish to the rear assists with slick navigation of the 34" scale, and along with the generous cutaways ensures that access to the upper frets is a breeze. 

The Nordstrand MM4.2 Dual Coil provides a driving deep growl, with pronounced punchy mids and a snappy treble response which blends perfectly into a wide range of musical settings; filling out the low end of the mix and capturing all the attack and sparkle of your playing. The 3-band EQ and master volume controls allows you to dial in your perfect tone right on the instrument.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The top edge of the headstock demonstrates several indentations and chipping to the finish.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates some very small indentation under close scrutiny, these cannot be felt undehand when playing.

Body: Overall good condition. All surfaces of the body demonstrate light scratching and several light indentations. These are most prominent on the bass side of the front face towards the upper horn and waist. There is a slightly larger indentation on the bass side lower edge which exposes the wood beneath. There is another small chip which exposes the wood located on the edge of the treble side upper horn. A slight hazing of the finish is apparent throughout. A very small finish crack can be seen to the treble side neck pocket.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate indentations throughout however these do not effect palyability. There is material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (spoke wheel) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and good condition. All of the hardware demonstrates tarnishing, particularly the tuners and the bridge. A hipshot D-Tuner has been installed. The Foam has been removed from the adjustable mute pads.

Structural: No structural concerns to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm

Electrics: Fully functional. The pickup has been replaced with a Nordstrand MM4.2 dual coil.
