The Italian Fuzz is Jon's perfected recreation of the Italian made Vox tonebender. Closely related to the Fuzz Face (it cleans up beautifully), the Italian Fuzz is more articulate and defined; plenty of gain with the Attack knob cranked without becoming overly dark and wooly. Additional tone tweaking available via the 'standard/fat' switch and bias control. This particular pedal uses a matched pair of what Jon calls new old stock "standard germanium" transistors.
The pedal has been well looked after and only used at home or the rehearsal studio. It's a stunning piece of gear but not getting used for my current projects. These don't come up for sale very often - skip the waitlist, forget the import fees and grab a bargain!
