The PreSonus ATOM is a USB bus-powered MIDI pad controller built around 16 full-size, velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads. It has no internal sound engine and works by sending MIDI data to a connected computer running your DAW or soft synths. Alongside the pads, it includes 4 endless rotary knobs and 20 assignable buttons, with 8 assignable pad banks giving broad parameter coverage. A dedicated MIDI Keyboard Mode remaps the pads to a one-octave layout for melodic playing. Connectivity is handled entirely over USB 2.0, with no traditional MIDI or audio I/O required.
