Up for sale is my stunning, lightweight Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue in the highly desirable Light Aged Iced Tea Burst finish.

This guitar has amazing resonance, sustains for days and an incredibly comfortable weight. It weighs exactly [9.4lbs], making it a dream to play compared to heavier reissues.

It has not been gigged or modified in any way - the only wear is the intentional Light Aged finish work applied by Tom Murphy's team at Gibson Custom Shop. No additional player dings, scratches, buckle rash, or fretwear beyond what came out of the Custom Shop. To all intents and purposes, this is a mint, factory-fresh Murphy Lab with stunning aged checking.

Iced Tea is one of the most sought-after finishes in the entire Murphy Lab catalogue, and Light Aged is the most marketable level of aging - enough vintage character to feel like a worn-in instrument without the heavy buckle rash and exposed wood of the Heavy and Ultra Heavy variants. The flame top on this one is rich and three-dimensional, with the classic Iced Tea fade transitioning beautifully from amber centre to darker edges.

The unpotted Custombucker Alnico III pickups deliver exactly what you'd hope for from a faithful '59 reissue - clear, dynamic, vocal, with that bloomy PAF-style top end. The 1-piece lightweight mahogany back and authentic '59 medium-C neck profile make it resonate like an acoustic unplugged, it's a dream to play!

The guitar plays effortlessly with low action and that classic, woody '59 PAF bite. It has lived in a smoke-free, climate-controlled home studio sleeping comfortably in its custom Gibson case.
