Reluctantly listing this fabulous amp for sale - I know I will regret letting go of it. Unfortunately I've just lost my studio space and with gear everywhere some of the bigger bits need to go.

If you're looking at this listing you probably know what these are - Marshall's 90s attempt at a flagship, do-everything 100W valve head. These do classic Marshall crunch and driven tones with ease, but for me what's really special about these amps is the clean channel (and reverb) which genuinely gives a Fender Twin a run for its money.

In my opinion these are well underrated compared to older Marshall amps, as they do everything a vintage JMP or similar will do and much more. For a British-built, all valve head they are still cheap but seem to be on the up. An article I read online somewhere described them as "The Misunderstood Masterpiece of Tube Tone", it's worth a read.

This one is a nice example in good working order. In my ownership it's only had studio use and the previous owner was in a church band. It has been reliable for me but for one exception - I had to have a tech replace the output transformer a couple of years ago. I think just rotten luck - it was replaced with a high quality unit and is now working as it should. This was done by a very experienced professional valve amp guy - in fact I travelled 200 miles to take the amp to him because I trust him so much! He didn't find any other issues with it although with the cost of the transformer I decided to postpone having a full service/revalve. I dare say it would benefit from that but it works well as is and sounds superb.

Cosmetically it's pretty good. There are one or two bits of damage to the Tolex which I would describe as "character". I've photographed the worst.

Note that the listing price reflects my reluctance to post this! I will post anywhere in the UK and will pack very well, but it's a hassle I'd prefer to avoid. If you are able to pick up in person I will listen to offers - I am located in Teignmouth, South Devon. If you are brave/strong there is a train station with direct trains to Exeter, London Paddington and beyond. If you bring a car there may be a deal to be done on the 1936 2x12 cab I have been using it with (although I'm somewhat tempted to hang on to this, and definitely not keen to post it).
