The Korg M1 is a digital music workstation that became one of the best-selling synthesizers in history, with an estimated 250,000 units sold between 1988 and 1995. Its sound engine combines 16-bit PCM waveform ROM — drawing on 100 multisounds and 44 drum sounds stored across 4 MB of ROM — with Variable Digital Filters and Variable Digital Amplifiers, delivering the sample-based subtractive synthesis that defined late-1980s and early-1990s pop and house music. The M1 offers 16-voice polyphony across its 61-key velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive keybed, and is 8-part multitimbral, making it capable of running independent sounds across up to eight MIDI channels simultaneously. Onboard effects — including reverb, delay, chorus, distortion, and Leslie simulation — are complemented by a built-in 8-track MIDI sequencer, and the unit supports RAM and PCM expansion cards for additional user data and waveforms.
A great opportunity to own a Korg M1 at this price point.
