Martin Custom Shop Size 5 Terz 12 Fret Acoustic Guitar

Built in the Martin Custom Shop (Serial Number 1914875 – possibly 2018), this outstanding guitar features an Italian Alpine spruce Top and European Flame Maple Back and Sides. It is finished in a 1935 sunburst which brings out the features of the stunning Maple. There are diamond & squares pearl inlays and gold hardware.    

The guitar comes in its original Martin 3-ply fitted hard shell case. The covering fibre bag for the case is also included, together with the hang tags, Custom Shop leather wallet (with specification sheet, Care Guide and Custom Shop Handbook), inspection Card and cleaning cloth. The original Martin cardboard carton is also included.

As a Terz  guitar, it would normally be tuned a minor third (three semitones) above standard guitar tuning. I usually tune it two semitones. The sound is bright and sparkling but with a surprising amount of depth and volume for such a small guitar. The action is perfect and it is in collectors condition.    

Some of the photographs show the guitar fitted with brass bridge pins. I have restored the original ebony and Paua Pearl dot bridge pins shown in the other photographs. I will take some more photographs and replacing the old photographs.
