Hi, you are looking at my cherished Hammond XK-5 Dual Manual Organ. This machine is a monster and the only real choice for professional Organ player. I bought this new and it is in perfect working order. It has a few scratches and bumps but it has spent all of its life either in rehearsal, on stage on in a case (which is not in this sale).

Multi-Contact Keyboard - Virtually!

To remain faithful to the original Hammond Tone Wheel organs, a new Virtual Multi-Contact keyboard has been developed to give the same feeling and quick response to the player. The same unique response is felt where the different harmonics sound in sequence as the key is pressed. The iconic Hammond performance techniques from legendary players such as Jon Lord, Jimmy McGriff, Jimmy Smith, Keith Emerson, and countless others can now be recreated on the XK5 - the only Virtual Tonewheel organ which has a multi-contact keyboard.

5 Sets Of Drawbars & Preset Keys

Keeping in line with the tradition of the B3 & C3 models, the XK5 offers the player 5 sets of drawbars (two sets for both upper & lower parts, plus a set for bass pedals). The black preset keys at the bottom of the keyboard allow for instant switching of preset drawbar configurations, making the XK5 the ideal choice for live performers.

Virtual Leslie/Vibrato Effects With Amp Simulator

The Leslie speaker emulator in the XK5 is definitely one of the best we have heard and negates the need for an external effects box, which players have been using in recent years. The Leslie effect simulates the sound of various tone cabinets including 122, 125, 145 and PR40 models.

The XK5 is equipped with tube circuits to simulate the pre-amplifier of the B3/C3 models. This provides warmth to the sound, and when the overdrive is applied, the XK5 rocks like no other clonewheel keyboard ever made. In addition to the pre-amp simulator and overdrive circuits, the XK5 offers graphic equalizer for individual parts, and multi-effects to completely change your sound. There is also a Master Equalizer for when you need to adjust the tone to suit the venue in which you are performing.

Powerful MIDI Master Keyboard Functions

External zones are available so that you can use the XK5 to control other MIDI equipment. Settings for external zones are stored within the patch settings which enables MIDI information to be sent as soon as patches are recalled.

Store your favourite sounds & settings

The XK5 comes pre-loaded with 100 preset patches - these are complete voice setups which cover a wide variety of musical genres. There are some specially programmed patches which emulate the sounds created by famous Hammond players, as well as the basic sounds you’ll need for everyday Hammond organ playing. There are also 100 user locations for you to store your own sounds.

Patches can be recalled using the black preset keys at the bottom of the keyboard, or selected by using the value knob. Each patch can be named, which is clearly displayed on the backlit display screen.

Expandable XK5 System

With the use of the optional XLK5 lower keyboard and XPK250, the XK5 can be expanded to become a console-style two-manual instrument with matching pedalboard.

I have left the velcro strip on to the left of the lower manual. This is to fix a vintage Leslie fast slow switch to. If you have a CU-1 fast/slow then this screws straight into the organ with factory made holes provided.
Upper manual preset keys come configured for different Deep Purple songs and sounds and are marked up but I can remove these easily if you need.
The organ has been tweaked to my specification over the years I have owned it and I feel that it sounds much better than when it came out of the factory. It can be fully reset to factory settings if you require however.
Bumps and scratches are hopefully all captured on the photos but as this is a collection only listing you will be able to look and see and play the instrument before you take it away. One key has a scratch, it's not really noticable.
