The Denon AVR-3803 is a seven-channel home theatre receiver built around a fully discrete, equal-power amplifier design, with 110 watts per channel delivered across all seven channels simultaneously. At its core is Denon's D.D.S.C.-Digital circuitry paired with a Melody 100 DSP for high-speed audio processing, and 24-bit/192kHz Burr-Brown PCM-1791 DACs handle analogue conversion. It decodes the full range of surround formats current at its time, including Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1, DTS NEO:6, and DTS 96/24 5.1. Component video up-conversion from composite and S-video keeps older sources compatible with component displays, while two sets of component video inputs and a dedicated component monitor output handle the video routing. A Pure Direct mode with AL24 processing is available for high-fidelity stereo listening. The surround back channels can be reassigned to drive a second room at full power, and a serial control port supports AMX/Crestron integration for custom installation work. The AVR-3803 was manufactured in Japan.
