Akai Z4 listed as ‘fair’ condition as the right side main audio output is non functioning. The rest of the unit is working perfectly fine and all as it should. The stereo output can still be used from the headphone output.

The recording inputs work perfectly as does everything else on the unit. All the knobs and encoders are clean and responsive.
I’ve had this for a few years with no operational issue. I think it was a workhorse for the last owner so is showing signs of being well used but remains solid and sounding excellent.

Although not as popular as the earlier S series, the Z4 is a superb sounding, highly versatile and expandable sampler. The operating system will be familiar to anyone who has used any of the more traditional line of Akai samplers. Although it does share the same architecture as the highly popular MPC 4000.

It is fitted with the EB4J FX card offering a useful selection of decent sounding (not something you can usually say about Akai’s FX) reverbs, delays, phasers and many others. It operates as 4 discrete FX blocks which can be used as sends or inserts.

It has a USB socket for hooking up to a PC for some file transfer, sample back up etc. This is done using the ‘AkSys’ software - there‘s loads on line about it.

It has an internal 20GB hard drive fitted but obviously unlimited storage when connected to a computer.

Some rack rash on the top panel as well as the front bezel, all as shown on the photos.

Comes with the rack ears although no screws for these however they are easy to source.
Collection preferred but I can post. it will be well packaged and fully insured.
