Squier by Fender Standard Series Stratocaster 2013 Cherry Sunburst with Iron Gear Texas Loco & Fender Pickups and 10-way Parallel and Series wiring
Fender describes the Squier Standard Stratocaster as a great playing guitar with a traditional vibe and modern feel. Player-friendly features like a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and a slimmer neck make for easier playing and choke-free bends.
The Standard has a full thickness body, ideal for upgrading, so on this guitar the stock pickups have been swapped out for Iron Gear Texas Loco staggered pole pickups at the Neck (6.15k) and Middle (6.45k) positions, which provide a touch more output and mid-range boost than a standard wound pickup - perfect for Texas blues but also very capable all-rounders, and a hot wound Fender Single Coil (8.53k) AlnicoV staggered pole pickup at the Bridge, providing a powerful bright tone and plenty of those quacky qualities from the in-between positions.
The original tone circuitry has been replaced with a 5-Way ‘Superswitch’, B250k push-pull pots at Tone 1 and Tone 2 positions, and a A250k mini-pot for Volume control, which together provide 10-way Parallel and Series wiring and tone control options.
The T1 Tone control has a 0.033µF cap and operates across the Neck and Middle pickups, and the T2 Tone control has a 0.022µF cap, which combine with the Treble Bleed on the Volume pot to manage the attenuation of high frequencies and keep the sound bright, preventing it becoming too muddy when the pickups are combined in series.
These upgrades provide this guitar with a multitude of tone and control options, suited to a broad range of styles and, with greater output from the series wiring, provides automatic increased volume when switching from rhythm to lead.

The stock chrome hardware has been switched out for gold coloured bridge, locking tuners, neck plate, jack plug, string trees, strap buttons and pickguard, all of which work well with the cherry sunburst wood finish, and combine to create a stunning and individual look.
