A beautifully preserved 1990 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Vintage Sunburst, offered by its only ever owner. Purchased new from Kingfisher Music (Fleet, Hampshire) in 1990, this guitar has seen very light use — played for approximately two years after purchase and again briefly 2008 to 2010 — and has spent the vast majority of its life carefully stored. It shows accordingly: this is a genuinely clean, honest example of a highly desirable era of Les Paul production.

Specifications & Originality

All hardware is original, including the bridge, tailpiece, and Gibson Deluxe tuners. The humbucker pickups are the original 1990 units. The only non-original items are the pickup surrounds, which have been replaced. The neck is unmodified and unrepaired. Original frets are in excellent condition consistent with very light use — there is negligible wear. Weight is 9.3lbs.

Serial number: 90520531 (confirms 1990 Nashville manufacture).

Condition

The guitar is in excellent condition for its age. All wear is honest, minor, and consistent with careful ownership over 35 years:

• Light surface scratches around the pickup toggle switch from normal playing use
• Slight paint crazing/checking along the body edge — typical lacquer behaviour for this era and adds to the vintage character
• Small crack to the plastic binding at the edge of the scratchplate
• Minor marking at the top of the headstock from normal handling
• One machine head feels very slightly loose — functions perfectly
• Minor contact mark on the back of the body from stand storage — surface level only

Case

Comes with the original Gibson hardshell case, made in Canada, with the iconic pink plush interior in excellent condition. The exterior shows expected age — some surface wear to the leatherette — and the combination lock is no longer functional, but all latches work securely. A great period-correct piece to go with the guitar.
