ZVex Nano Head — Hand Painted, All-Tube ½-Watt Amp Head with Original Power Supply

In good condition, tested and working fine with original power supply, first production year Myrold edition. The ZVex Nano Head is a completely revolutionary palm-sized all-tube guitar amplifier delivering one-half watt of roaring tube power, with startlingly rich overtones from any 8–16 ohm cabinet. This isn't a modelling amp, a preamp pedal, or a gimmick — it's a genuine tube amplifier in a box the size of a large effects pedal.

Why it's special: Rated at half a watt and integrated into a pedal housing, the Nano Head is the world's smallest production valve amplifier. With its twin JAN-6921W military spec valves, mini transformer and cooling fan, it's built exactly like a full-sized amp. It does a great job of emulating big amps at very reasonable volumes and is capable of going into total saturation.

The main controls are located on the side, while the top of the box houses the exposed sub-miniature military tubes, the transformer, and the high-voltage capacitors, wisely protected by four parallel roll bars. Tape Op All switch positions are indicated by Zachary Vex's signature hand-painted illustrations — suns, clouds, and weather icons in place of labels.

Controls:

• Bright switch — more effect at lower volumes, like a Fender-style bright cap
• Volume — from clean and quiet (0.1W) to full crunchy saturation (0.5W)
• Thickness — Normal / Thin / Fat for shaping low-end response
• Mellow — Mellow 2 / Normal / Mellow 1 for rolling off treble post-distortion
