A departure from Fender’s traditional tone wood
choices, the 2017 Limited Edition Malaysian
Blackwood Telecaster enhances the traditional
Tele style with the elegant look of a Malaysian
blackwood top. Strong and dense, Malaysian
blackwood has plenty of sustain, perfect for
soaring lead lines and raucous rhythm work.
For authentic, vintage-inspired tone, the 2017
Limited Edition Malaysian Blackwood Telecaster
is loaded with two JP-90 single-coil pickups.
Topped by 22 narrow-tall frets for easy bending,
the 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard is ideal for most
playing styles, offering enough arc for comfortable
chording while remaining flat enough for wide
bends. The custom string-through-body short-
plate Tele bridge features compensated brass
saddles for accurate intonation along the entire
length of the neck.
With its authentic, original-era sound and style,
