The Silvertone 1482 is a budget 15 watt amp, built by Danelectro for Sears to sell through their catalogues. They feature a lightweight case of MDF-type material, no chassis to speak of, point-to-point wiring, and a puny looking 12" speaker. That said they represent sixties US garage rock with a sound of their own, and a great tremolo. I've dated this one to 1967 by the speaker code.
The amp features Mic and Instrument channels, each with Volume and Tone controls, and Speed and Strength controls for the tremolo which operates on all inputs. Sadly, the original wedge-shaped footsitch is missing but any standard one will work. This model has been fitted with orange drop capacitors in a past service and a three-core mains cable (eliminating the "death cap" and earthing the chassis). It does run on US 115 volts so will need a step-down transformer for UK use. It retains the Silvertone-branded 6V6 tubes and the majority of the original pre-amp valves (all US manufactured), together with its original Fisher speaker.
Grille cloth and all knobs are intact. The case is in good condition for the age with just a few scuffs and still has the original handle and feet. The back panel is missing but I may find a bit of MDF to fit in order to aid projection of the sound and also protect the speaker.
I would prefer collection but, as it's so light, I'm prepared to pack it for shipping.
Thanks for looking and check out my other bits. I will be listing more interesting amps and gear later.
