NO TRADES / NO PART EXCHANGE
This is NOT a reissue, its an original 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom. I have owned this guitar for about 25 years and it is a stunner. If guitars could talk then this one would probably have a few stories to tell from its life on the road.
One of the most common questions that I get asked about this guitar is ‘has it been refinished’. No it hasn’t - this is the way it left the Gibson factory. I would probably imagine it was wine red and over the years it has faded / morphed into this gorgeous cherry red.
Gibson serial numbers were very sketchy during the late 60’s to early 70’s and the serial number on this guitar could place it between 1970 to 1974. But the most accurate guide I have, is to go by the pot date codes which have 1974 date codes. It weighs in around 10lbs, but they made them like that back in the day.
You don't find many of these around for sale these days as most have been bought by collectors. There are plenty of re-issues about, but this is your chance to buy an original genuine vintage and rare guitar.
It has been used throughout its life and there is worming on the back and a number of dings and dents here and there. There are a couple of indents on the rear of the neck and general wear and tear around the edges. You can see most of this in the photos. So its not mint by any means but has been well cared for and not spent its life in a closet.
The hardware is tarnished and the frets are as I bought it all those years ago. The PAT Number pickups sound amazing but I don't think they are original pickups. This guitar a real rock machine which would grace any collection and will turn heads wherever it is played.
Have a good look at the photos as they give you a good understanding of the condition of the guitar and feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. I can send more photos on request, so please ask. But please ensure that you understand that this is a well used but outstanding guitar and it does have all the signs of wear and use.
It comes complete with its original hard case which has bits of its covering missing. Again you can see this in the photos.
Collection preferred from Warwickshire CV37, but I may ship following discussion. I may also ship overseas, but that will be expensive, but it's up to the buyer. The international shipping cost is an estimate, so it could be higher than that listed, so buyer needs to be aware of this.
