Fender American Standard Stratocaster 2008 – Sienna Sunburst with upgraded Seymour Duncan pickups and locking tuners

This US made guitar with an ash body (only used on the sienna sunburst finish) is in great condition, looks stunning, and sounds amazing with the upgrades set out below.

Photo’s from the Fender serial number checker show the original details of this model, however the pickups have been upgraded with Seymour Duncan's, and the tuners have been upgraded to a Fender locking staggered post set.

The original five-way switch, volume and tone pots have been retained (including the Delta Tone 'No Load' pot on the middle and bridge), with the capacitor switched for a higher value 0.047µf to suit the SD pickups, and a treble bleed (1.0nf cap with 100kΩ resistor in parallel) added to the volume pot.

The 3 Seymour Duncan pickups have been selected in the style of SD’s Everything Axe set to provide the ultimate versatile workhorse guitar with a wide variety of tonal options.

The Hot Rails bridge single coil ‘rails’ sized humbucker delivers high output, loads of midrange harmonics, and an aggressive crunch that is great for rock and metal. Chords are full and powerful, and single notes jump out with amazing sizzle.

The middle position Duckbucker is a single-coil sized humbucker that is specifically voiced for total Strat quack and adds a sparkly single coil tone in positions 2, 3, & 4. The unique, split-pole pattern contributes to the single coil bounciness and snappy low end. This is a Neck model (as the Neck/Middle position models have the same output, wind direction and magnetic polarity as per  Jimi Hendrix style).

The Little 59 in the neck position has a nice, balanced P.A.F.-like response for big, full chords, and fat, punchy solos. It has that pleasing blend of warmth and bite when you dig in.

Generally the guitar in excellent condition and plays very well. The neck shows very little fret wear. The body has a few dings on the bottom, and a few small dents on the side and the front– see photos, none of which impact on the playability.

The guitar has been set up with 0.009’s and a low action to Fender specifications for neck relief, intonation, string, nut and pick up height.

It also comes with the original case, which is also in excellent condition
