Here is my trusty Focusrite ISA 428 mk2 WITH the added ADAT Digicard (Not the newer Dante-enabled one - See pics). It has a really nice neutral open sound, with the perfect balance of rich Neve-like character but with buckets of headroom and clarity in the top. Never heard anything sound bad through these. The Variable Impedance is really useful with dynamics and ribbons... I can open up some high end, especially with ribbon mics.

The condition is excellent and works perfectly, and as expected.

Includes manual and power cable.

Here's the AI blurb:

The Focusrite ISA 428 MkII with the optional ADAT digital card is a 4-channel transformer-based microphone preamplifier and an 8-channel, high-quality A/D converter, providing a versatile and professional front-end for a digital audio workstation (DAW). It delivers the classic Focusrite sound—transparent with subtle warmth from its Lundahl input transformers—and integrates seamlessly into modern digital workflows via ADAT, AES3, or S/PDIF outputs. Core Features

  • Classic Preamplifiers: It features four of Focusrite's renowned ISA series preamps, known for their high-quality sound and an impressive 80dB of available gain, making them suitable for virtually any microphone, including low-output ribbon and dynamic mics.
  • Variable Impedance: A key feature is the selectable input impedance, which includes the original "Vintage ISA110" setting. This allows users to match the preamp to any microphone for optimal performance or use different settings creatively to shape the sound.
  • Integrated A/D Conversion: The added digital card provides a high-precision 8-channel A-D converter, offering up to 24-bit/192kHz sampling with a wide 122dB dynamic range. This makes it an ideal, high-quality digital input solution for interfaces or digital desks with ADAT inputs.
  • Flexible Connectivity: In addition to four XLR mic inputs, the unit includes four front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs (eliminating the need for separate DI boxes), rear-panel line inputs, and switchable analog insert points on each channel for routing through external processors like EQs or compressors before digital conversion.
  • Variable High-pass Filter: Each channel includes a variable high-pass filter with a cut-off frequency range of 16Hz to 420Hz, offering precise control over the low end and helping to eliminate unwanted rumble or proximity effect.

The ISA 428 MkII is highly regarded by reviewers for its professional audio quality, flexibility, and robust build, often described as a studio workhorse that sounds great on diverse sources like drums, vocals, and bass DI.
