2001 Rickenbacker 360 V64 – Maple Glo – Rare Six-String Vintage Reissue

Offered here is an exceptionally rare 2001 Rickenbacker 360 V64 in the highly desirable Maple Glo finish—a stunning, natural look that beautifully showcases the figured maple grain.

The finish has aged gracefully, now presenting a slightly darker, warmer hue than when it was new, adding to its vintage character.

This model is the elusive six-string counterpart to the iconic 360/12 V64, produced in very limited numbers during the early 2000s.

The 360 V64 series was crafted as a faithful tribute to the legendary Rickenbackers of the British Invasion era, built to vintage specifications that are no longer found on modern Rickenbacker production models. At the heart of this reissue are a pair of 1960s-spec scatter-wound ‘Toaster Top’ pickups—true to the originals in both look and tone—delivering the unmistakable jangle, chime, and warmth that helped define an entire generation of sound.

Specifications of the Rickenbacker 360 V64 include:

  • Semi-hollow maple body with carved top and back for enhanced resonance
  • Maple neck with rosewood fretboard and classic double dot inlays
  • Vintage-style 21-fret fingerboard with 41mm nut width
  • Dual scatter-wound Toaster Top pickups for authentic '60s tone
  • Rickenbacker’s iconic “R” tailpiece and vintage-style Kluson tuners
  • Mono and stereo output jacks (Rick-O-Sound capability)
  • Bound body and neck with checkerboard binding on the back
  • Deluxe vintage-style appointments and slim neck profile

This particular example is in excellent condition, showing only the lightest signs of careful use. There are a few very minor dings—too small to capture accurately in photographs—and the frets show only minimal wear. They remain well crowned and polished, ensuring excellent playability. The setup is smooth and responsive, with low action and precise intonation across the board. It weighs in at a comfortable 7.23 lbs.

The control knobs have been replaced with vintage-spec versions for a more accurate period-correct aesthetic; however, the original knobs are included with the guitar.

It also comes with its original Rickenbacker hard case, which is likewise in excellent condition.

As one would expect from Rickenbacker, the craftsmanship is superb. Flawless binding, tight neck joints, and a factory finish that rivals the best boutique builders—all contribute to an instrument that not only looks stunning but plays and sounds with remarkable clarity and resonance.

The Rickenbacker 360 V64 six-string version has become increasingly difficult to find, particularly in the rare Maple Glo finish and in this level of condition.

For those seeking true vintage tone and aesthetics without compromise, this is a standout example of a highly collectible and musically inspiring instrument.
