This is a custom made REDD47 styled mic preamp by Analogue Addicts... with electric guitar/bass guitar Hi-Z input, dynamic microphone input, synth/line level input, dual mono outs....
A very high end sounding unit based on the classic British EMI REDD47 type units. This is a much warmer sound than the usual preamps made by other companies… a truly unique gem!
Inside this unit you have a Vintage Mullard EF86 and an ECC88 style valve. These are vintage parts. Transformers are Belclere type for input and a Carnhill OT for output.
A XLR input socket balanced line input. A 1/4" unbalanced input for direct connection of guitars into the first valve. A dynamic microphone input. Also, 2 outputs- one to go to a sound interface and one to split off to somewhere else. A high level line input option padded down and send through all the circuits, another 1/4" input socket that goes via an input level control for synths use too. This way you can drive the inputs a bit harder as required. The transformer balanced line outputs around 600 ohms impedance
If you patch into the 2 inputs on a stereo unit it should be fine. Obviously will not be stereo though but dual mono. Usually you can simply go into a mono input and pan/select to be mono so it goes to both chan. I have split the output from the transformer out to use half the secondary to each output keeping them isolated.
WARNING: Do NOT plug a line level signal with the switch in the mic position.
