Multiband stereo effects unit with distortion, flanging, tremolo & delay sections. The Mo-FX has four effects sections, each of which can be targeted at different frequency bands or the whole signal

Each section has a high / mid / low selector with LEDs to show which combination of bands is being effected. It's simpler to use than to explain... There's also a momentary button for each section that allows that function to be temporarily switched in or out while the button is pressed. A global LFO gives a timebase for effect timing with a tap tempo button to set tempo

The delay section speed pot works in real time so delays & repeats can be pitched up & down by changing speed - just like a Deltalab Effectron

Like other Electrix units the Mo-FX has full midi implementation so can be controlled in real time. The front panel sends & received control data so perfromances can be recorded, edited & played back

Electrix doesn't exist as a company any more which is a shame - their units offer a great blend of user-friendliness & ability and hide lots of digital cleverness behind the analogue-looking exterior

"The main thing about this is that it is very performance orientated, each of the sections has a large performance button that can be tapped to quickly bring effects in and out of the mix, and all the controls transmit and respond to MIDI messages"

"I can’t recommend this enough. There’s no hidden menus to dig through. You can use it with any DJ or console mixer, and it’s just fun to use"

"I've got this hooked up to my electrix repeater, and they sure make a nice (synced:) pair. For live-sampling I wouldn't use anything else. The FX are warm and analogue, the delay being my favourite. The distortion is also fat (alltough noisy), and the flanger and tremolo is good for breaks and messing up vocals"

"This machine is built like a TANK, with solid, heavy, easy to grip knobs. Lots of lights too, but they all serve practical purposes. Cut-in buttons and a tap tempo feature make this machine perfect for live/DJ use. No external power supply/wall wart, and the ability to connect to it using RCA or 1/4" cables is great. One of the coolest-looking pieces of gear I own"

"I'm really a fan of all of the effects on the Mo FX for various uses on various instruments. My favorite effect is the delay, as it is easy to get a variety of delay sounds from it. I've used it on everything from vocals to guitars and anything else that could use a cool effect or twist to it. You can get a sound anywhere from short, subtle delay to a beautiful, wide, cavernous one. The repeats can get extremely quick and almost crazy sounding... I also like using both the flanger and the tremolo for creating a really thick and wide flange tone or a wobbly tremolo. There are plenty of dials to manipulate each effect to get a real wide variety of sounds for a variety of applications"
