A very vibrant flame top coupled with the rarely seen Tennessee Sunset Fade finish. A few upgrades including a set of fantastic sounding Wolfetone Dr. Vintage PAF clones and a wiring harness featuring genuine CTS pots and real PIO Bumblebee caps. A superb playing and sounding R9.
Here is a Gibson Custom Shop re-creation of a 1959 spec Les Paul Standard. This particular example dates to 2012 and is finished in the seldom seen Tennessee Sunset Fade finish. A previous owner has implemented a few popular upgrades, specifically a pair of fantastic sounding Wolfetone Dr Vintage PAF clones, a new 50's wiring harness featuring CTS pots and genuine paper in oil Luxe Bumblebee caps, a locking bridge and tailpiece for improved tone transfer and a metal output jack plate and more stable strap buttons.
The flame maple top features a very vibrant flame which really pops when the light hits it. The pick guard has never been fitted and it left the factory without any drill holes, but the guard and mounting bracket is included should you wish to fit the guard at some point.
The frets are in great condition with no wear to speak of - the guitar was fitted with a set of flats when we got it. It is now fitted with a set of roundwound 10 gauge strings and it plays really well with a low slinky action with zero fret buzz and no choking anywhere. The neck has the perfect '59 type profile, being chunky but not too much and with soft shoulders making it a very comfortable neck to play.
The pair of Wolfetone Dr Vintage PAFs coupled with the upgraded wiring harness gives this Les Paul an open, articulate and nuanced tone that responds very well to player touch. It sounds great in both clean and overdriven set ups with bags of natural sustain.
Overall a spectacular looking and sounding R9 in near mint condition.
Comes with the original brown Lifton reissue case, the COA, all of the hang tags and case candy, and the pick guard and mounting bracket.
