The Gibson L-00 Rosewood 12-Fret Rosewood Burst guitar offers a blend of classic design and enhanced tonal characteristics. This small-bodied guitar, based on the 1930s L-00 model, features a rosewood body, which contributes a deep resonance and clear treble response, adding tonal depth and balance. The top is made from Sitka spruce, further enhancing the guitar's sound projection. Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing supports the top.
A key feature of this model is its 12-fret neck joint. This design alters the guitar's balance and provides a different playing experience compared to 14-fret models. The 12-fret neck joins the body at the 12th fret, resulting in enhanced midrange tone and responsiveness, and a comfortable playing feel. The neck itself is mahogany with a SlimTaper profile. The fingerboard is rosewood with a 12-inch radius and Mother of Pearl dot inlays. The nut is made of TUSQ and has a width of 1.725 inches.
The guitar has a 24.75-inch scale length and 19 standard frets. The bridge is rosewood with a TUSQ saddle. Grover open-back tuning machines maintain tuning stability. A multi-ply binding adorns the top, while the back has single-ply binding. The guitar is finished with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.
For amplified performance, the L-00 Rosewood 12-Fret is equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC active under-saddle pickup and preamp. The controls for volume and tone are conveniently located in the soundhole. The output jack is a standard 1/4-inch endpin jack. The guitar comes with a hardshell case for protection during transport and storage.
