The MPC X is Akai's flagship of music production consoles. Because it functions as a fully independent (standalone) device, you don't need a computer to operate it. It features a 10.1-inch colour multi-touch display that shows you a wide array of editing possibilities. You're guaranteed an intuitive workflow thanks to the clear layout of the encoders and controllers on the MPC X. Your user experience is enhanced by the fact that the 2.0 version of the MPC Software is now integrated into the device. Not only does the MPC X work in standalone mode, it also functions as an extra platform for your Mac or PC, and allows you to use the software as a plugin for your DAW.

The MPC X offers a pleasant, intuitive workflow; in fact, it's likely to change the way you make music completely! It boasts seamless integration with 16 velocity-sensitive RGB pads, controllers, encoders, and of course a large touch screen, and the latest 2.0 version of the sublime MPC Software, there was never this much freedom for creative expression. Also, the MPC X is powered primarily by a rechargeable lithium battery, making mobile music production a very viable, practical option. As well as the pads, you'll have 16 Q-links with OLED displays at your disposal that can be linked to various parameters. These pads can be adjusted according to your own personal preferences to customise your personal user experience.

Central in every production environment

Akai's intention with the MPC X was clear: their aim was to create a device that would function as the beating heart of any production environment. For that reason, they were sure to include every input and output a producer might need. Connectivity with studio equipment is made possible by means of a combined XLR/jack connector, RCA and Hi-Z inputs, and 8 balanced jack outputs. It also has 48V phantom power for your condenser mics. You can monitor every step of the production process by means of the interactive VU meters. Lastly, you can further expand on the MPC X's 16 GB of samples with a 2.5-inch SATA SSD or HDD card.
